Current Events ![]() Hoping for a WHITE Farm Winter!!Welcome to Winter at White Farm!
Kindergarten classes will migrate over to White Farm for a bit to find out what animals do to survive in the wintertime!
First graders just spent some time learning about backyard birds, and now they will be studying other critters, such as bees, and their lifecycles.
Second graders are discovering the importance of habitats, and some of the non-living things, such as soil, that help to make that habitat what it is!
Our dynamic third graders are investigating that mysterious force we call "energy" and how it can transform! After a few raucous weeks of studying sound, now they will start to make their way "into the light" to discover the energy behind what we SEE!
Fourth graders are busy experimenting and practicing graphing and analyzing their results.
Fifth graders are learning how they “measure up,” working on the scientific method, careful measurement, and the metric system!
You are welcome to visit White Farm at any time to explore the outdoors for yourself this winter! Come hike, ski or snowshoe (as long as we get some of that fluffy, white stuff soon)! We hope to see you!
![]() Pale Male at Red River Theatres, A Huge Success!
4th Grade School Yard Hawk Watching Wrap-up at Red River Theatres on October 25th a HUGE SUCCESS!!!
The event brought out over 125 fourth graders and their families for the display of hawks, hard work, and a heart-warming film. Each 4th grade class provided a ‘quilt’ of work done by students that summarized what they learned about Birds of Prey. Migration data collected by students during the School Yard Hawk Watches was posted and on display along with other local and statewide data. The Audubon brought a live red-tailed hawk to share, and then students and their families settled in to watch Pale Male, a documentary film about a red tail hawk that establishes a nesting site on a building across from Central Park. He finds a mate and raises a family, all in view of a very interested New York public eye. This event was free of charge for Concord’s 4th grade students and their families thanks to the generous support of NH Audubon, Turkey River Basin Trust and our friends at Red River Theatres!
